No goals!

I don’t have any objective with this list. No ambitious “I’m gonna read all these books by the end of 2026!” goal. Nope! I’m just cataloguing all the books that I’ve been carrying around with me for the last decade (in some cases-like Tomatoland, Silent Spring, and A Fuller View-multiple decades, egads!).

Several of these titles I bought new, and they remain uncracked or partially cracked (Unsavory Truth, Barons, Thicker Than Water, Notebook, Bird by Bird, End Times Fascism). Some are borrowed (Disobedience, Illusions, The Surrender Experiment, My Best Stories, Entangled Life, Nineteen Steps, No Bad Parts – friends, I promise I will give them back!). The rest are thrift-store finds that I’ve collected because they’ve been on my TBR list for forever!

Sure, I would like to read some of these over the coming months. We’re heading into autumn here on the mountain, and I am so ready to get cozy! But I’m not establishing any firm goals* or making this A Project, because every time I do, I end up not achieving it. I just wanna read**!

Are any of these titles on your list? If so, do you want to read together?

Let’s do it, Bird by Bird! 📚

*I’ve even stopped tracking page counts in my Fable app. Now, I just add books to my “finished” shelf.

**Two things that have helped me read more, even if I’m not reading the books listed here: logging off from and deleting Instagram/Facebook from my phone; and borrowing from my local library. I’ve even gotten into reading borrowed books on my phone (hooray for Libby!), which is not great for my thumbs or eyes, but until I get a Kindle, it keeps my brain reading…

The books, slowly being overtaken by the jungle.
