Back Online…Finally!

If you’re reading this then congratulations – you figured out how to navigate my mess of a website update. Welcome! It feels a bit funny saying that, seeing as how this blog has been on the web for a solid 8 years now (yay!) but I recently moved Seven In the Ocean from wordpress.com to a self-hosted WordPress.org site (I know, it made no sense to me either but apparently there’s a difference and nobody told me!). The transition was, well…rocky at best. I don’t want to talk about it. Suffice to say, for the past 3 months, my site has been in “maintenance mode” and I’ll admit: I was kind of hiding behind that. I figured since nobody could see it, I didn’t have to push to get it up and running again…that is, until 3 days ago when I met two badass lady bloggers, introduced myself, told them about my blog, then realized, “Shit! My blog is not live and the first thing they’re gonna do is try to read my blog!” Fire under ass, officially lit (thank you Sarah and April)! After a manic touch-up, I published what I had (it turns out that what I had was quite a lot) and wouldn’t ya know it: I feel better. *sigh*

But – just so you know…it’s a work in progress. As you journey around the site, you may notice that almost none of the links work and the layout, while progressing, is still a bit wonky. But ya know what? I’m OK with that because now it’s out there. My dream is to connect with people near and far, local and global, share stories and get inspired. The only way I can do that is if I make it known to the Internet at large that that’s what I’m up to because let’s face it: in this day and age, if you’re not a Google search away, nobody can find you. While sometimes this is nice and I do enjoy my offline time, I also understand and value connections whether they be on- or off-line. So if the Internet is here to stay (and all signs point to that being the case), then dang it ima use it for all it’s worth!

So check back here as I bring this website up to date, so I can better share fun, informative content and connect with yous guys! Thanks for reading and ciao for now. 🙂

Definitely lit a fire under my butt as well meeting you. Since theN I’ve done a little refining and writing myself and may switch domains too. Fingers crossed

    1. HA! It’s amazing what one little face-to-face connection will do for motivation. Thank you Sarah! 🙂 Good luck with the domain switch (I’m here to commiserate if ya need it ;))
